The start of a Hockey collection ??

Out of the blue I recently received a small yellow mailer with one card, call it an international PWE. In it was a strange card...strange because it was a hockey card, not "real" hockey (as we know it in Europe) but ice hockey (yes, I hear everybody thinking "what we play here in North America is "real" hockey!). The card was send to me by Douglas at Buck Store Cards. I had send him a Hockey relic a few months back from a guy called Getzlaf, apparently a well know player (yes, clearly demonstrating here I have no clue about ice hockey !). Douglas send me a card of Ed Kea in return, apparently the only NHL-er born in the Netherlands. So, that little fact makes this a cool addition to my collection !

Not sure if this means the start of a Hockey collection, probably just a cool addition to my "Dutch" collection ! Thanks very much Douglas for a nice surprise !!

Pinnacle is back !

Going through my cards I remember the Pinnacle brand. I thought it went bankrupt somewhere in the last decade but I was surprised to see it re-emerging again. Apparently, Pannini also picked-up this brand. So that means more fun in the collecting business and my latest Rizzo addition !! Here it is !!

Collecting Cardboard is a Habit !

Last week a package from Judson at My Cardboard Habit arrived with some awesome cards !! At some point I expressed interest in a Rivera card he showed on his blog and he kept that aside for me (thanks!!). With Allen & Ginter out and my Want List full of Ginter he combined the two and send me 2 cool Rivera cards with a bunch of Ginter !!

Let's start with the Rivera cards ! A awesome Gallery of Heroes and an eqwually awesome Bowman Platinum die-cut card !! Same picture, different backgrounds !

In addition to these awesome Rivera cards Judson send me a big pile of Allen & Ginter ! He send me some base cards I was still missing but you are probably board of seeing so let me stick to the inserts !! Meet the Vikings (from around the corner here) and the Aztecs.

Judson send me a bunch more and also included minis !! I love minis !!! Here they are !!

Judson send much more so it will keep me busy going through it tonight and sorting it !!

My best Ginter Kershaw !!

A few months ago a very, very cool N43 Allen & Ginter popped-up, a beautiful autographed Kershaw card. I hadn't seen one before and gradually becoming a Kershaw supercollector I had the strong urge to get it. It arrived 2 months ago but forgot to show it until now. So here it is !

How do you like these, annoyed by the strange size of these N43 cards or liking them like I do ?

Gold & Silver !

I really like the Tier One "On the Rise" auto cards, in particular the ones with the black background. The 2013 Tier One set had again a few of these in it and when  I noticed a few Rizzo's, with apparently little interest from other buyers, I scooped them up. Here they are, a Silver one, from the 2012 set, and a 1/1 Gold one from 2013 !!
