Happy New Year !!

Happy New Year everyone !!! Yes, a few days late but as you might have figured I am still swamped with a lot of other stuff, hence my lack of posting in the last few months. Just wanted you all to know I am still here, alive and kicking, and more importantly, collecting !!

My Glavine collection has been steadily growing, as has my Blyleven collection. Kershaw is still on the way out (but still plenty for sale / trade so see my Kershaw list). I am behind with my Want list and Trade Bait as I still need to add my 2016 Gypsy Queen loot as well as 2016 Series 1& 2 and my Allen & Ginter needs. Hopefully I will have some time in the coming weeks to get up to speed on this one !!

Hope you are all still going strong ! Rest assure (in case you were worried, of course) that I am still following your blogs on a daily basis !!

As every posts needs some cards here are some of my latest additions ! First up a nice addition to my Glavine collection with Carlton and Zito as a bonus !

Next up, from this year's Panin's Immaculate, here's Blyleven, together with some old stars !

Last, but certainly not least, 2 Allen & Ginter printing plates, Magenta and Yellow !!

Thanks for visiting my blog and sticking with me !! Hope to be back soon !!

Zippy Zap Trade !

A few days ago I received an awesome package, a package from Zippy Zappy Kenny at Cervinupcards ! Kenny expressed some interest in a few cards I showed and I got some great cards in return. Let's have a look ! First up, a Topps 1976 card !! As some of you might know it is the first "vintage" set I am trying to complete so this one is great, even if its a Red Sox card :-) One of my goals for 2014 is to try to get the 1976 set 75%+ complete so if you have any around let's trade !!

Kenny also send me an awesome Konami World Baseball Classic card from Japan with Sidney de Jong from the Dutch Team !! He even included a translation of the back of the card, thanks Kenny !

Next up, minis !!!! I love minis and these two I still missed for my A&G set !! Kenny also added a Sepia GQ Cano mini, great card !

Next up a few Opening Day cards I still needed for my set !!

Yes ! More Yankee Stadium Legacy cards, still over 4500 to go so keep'em coming !!

Here is a cool Bowman Chrome mini, didn't know they existed but I like them ! Also, a awesome Jeter, hope he has a great final season !!

Kenny added 1 relic card, Teixeira ! Furthermore, a cool young Betances !

Kenny also included some autos, meet Betances and a TTM (I think) of Oliberto.

Another auto, Ty Hensley !!

To finish the overview here are two more cool cards, Cano and Clemens !

Thanks Kenny for an awesome package, hope you like the cards I sent you as well ! Looking forward to our next trade !!

Silk Additions !!

I think these Silk cards are cool, mainly because they are different and they look nice in a frame. At the same time they are hard to find, in particular the Allen & Ginter ones as they are often only numbered to 10. In recent months I was able to pick-up two, so very lucky here ! Meet Kershaw and Rizzo !!

I am always on the look out for more Silk so let me know if you have any to trade !! Thanks for visiting my blog today !!

My best Ginter Kershaw !!

A few months ago a very, very cool N43 Allen & Ginter popped-up, a beautiful autographed Kershaw card. I hadn't seen one before and gradually becoming a Kershaw supercollector I had the strong urge to get it. It arrived 2 months ago but forgot to show it until now. So here it is !

How do you like these, annoyed by the strange size of these N43 cards or liking them like I do ?

Some Dutch Ginter

Staying with the Allen & Ginter theme I recently came across a cool box topper, one of the Dutch team !! Not many baseball cards around with Dutch players, let alone the Dutch team so this was a great card to chase. As nobody is interested in these it seems I get it for only a dollar !! Here it is, the Dutch team after a great win !!

Thanks for visiting my blog today !

Glavine Red Mini !!

Quick post with my latest Glavine card, an awesome one as it combines my love for Allen & Ginter, Minis and Glavine !! See here my latest red back mini, numbered to only 25 !!

Thanks for visiting my blog today !

A UK Trade !!!

I finally found another way of getting rid of my Red Sox cards (instead of burning them or throwing them away!). John at Pursuitof80s blog, another baseball card collector based in Europe (UK) like me, collects Red Sox cards !!

I send him a bunch of Red Sox cards and a return package arrived at my doorstep earlier this week. Some cool cards from my Want list were included and some cool Yankees cards as well !! Here they are !!

First up a great Jeter 2010 Heritage card, numbered to only 61 !! In addition, one of the very cool Cut to the Chase cards !

Next up minis !! I love minis and still trying to complete several minis sets so these additions are very helpful !! Another mini for my Kershaw collection as well !!

Next up, a great 2011 Gypsy Queen card, I still only have a few of the base cards so still looking for loads of them. Also a cool mascot card (3 more to go I think!).

2009 Allen & Ginter !! Like 2011 GQ I only have a few 2009 A&G yet so still need a lot including this one ! Also the most hated Yankee (also by me to be honest), A-Rod.

Two young Jeter cards were included as well....he looks really young here !

Lastly, 2 cards I still needed, a 2012 insert and a 2012 Archives base card !

The package included a bunch more Yankees so thanks very much John for the trade ! Great to have another place to unload my Red Sox in the future !

A Roadkill Trade, part 1

I recently completed one of the biggest trades in my baseball collecting career with Duane at Democratic Roadkill, a trade largely focussed on my growing love for minis !! The trade completed several sets for me and gave me a big help with my quests to complete several of the Allen & Ginter minis sets. Given the size of the trade I will split it over several posts in the coming days !!

First up Joey Votto, a very important card. Why you may ask ? Well, it was the last 2011 Allen & Ginter card I still needed to complete the base set !!

Duane also helped me a lot with my quest to complete the Allen & Ginter 2008 base set although I still need a few so do check out my Want List ! Here are a few that Duane send me, two Rookie cards !

In addition to finishing my 2011 A&G base set, Duane also send me the last two 2012 A&G base cards I still needed so that set is now completed as well !!!

Duane also included some Masterpieces, black-border Masterpieces to be exact. I continue to feel this is one of the best sets I have come across in the last decade, beautifull cards !! Here's Verlander and Ford !

To close today's post Part 1 let me close with some 2008 SP Authentic, a set I am trying to complete and Duane helped me on my way with...only 3 more to go !!!

That's it for today. Be on the look-out for the minis part of the trade tomorrow !!! Thanks Duane for some great cards and thanks everyone for visiting my blog today !

Package from Cardboard Catastrophes !!

Late last week I received a package from a place called Norman, sender being Jeffrey. Normally I keep proper track of my trades and the only person from Norman I knew was Jeremy from No One is Going To Read This Blog and I was sure that we had already completed our trade a while back. After a bit of digging I vaguely remembered an e-mail from Carlsonjok at Cardboard Catastrophes asking for my address as he had some cards for me, cards that seem to match the content of the package I received. Doing some more digging on the internet I could confirm that Carlsonjon (or Jeffrey according to the envelop) is also based in Norman ! I hear you thinking, oke oke Sherlock, let's show us the cards ! Well here we go !

The package was great, a cool mix of cards from my Want List, ranging from Minis to A&G inserts, Lineage and Gypsy Queen ! Jeffrey really spend the time going through my Want List which is much, much appreciated !! Let's start with the minis !!

The Minis were a great selection of 2012 A&G and 2011 Kimball which I am both trying to complete !

Gypsy Queen was also included, a very cool Sabathia. A gold/brown framed retail version which is great as retail is not easy to get in Europe ! Also a nice 2012 A&G insert of Ripken I was still missing.

2008 A&G was also present. I am gradually getting towards completing the base set !!

I am also still trying to complete some of the 2011 Lineage inserts so these were very welcome ! Let's hope Pineda can give us some joy in 2013.

and more A&G, 2012 What's in a Name and the 2011 comparable Hometown Heroes (extra special to me given its Sabathia !!).

Last card for today is a cool Lincecum from the Heritage set !!

Jeffrey, thanks so much for a very cool, and unexpected, package. I am going to send you something in return of course once I figure out what you would like (your small Want List is not helping me a lot :-))

Thanks everyone for visiting my blog today ! Enjoy the rest of the weekend !
