Dutch Bravery !

One of the best Dutch players during the recent World Baseball Classics (WBC) in my view was Andrelton Simmons, player of the Atlanta Braves. Earlier today I remembered that I actually pulled one of his autographs a few months back when opening a pack of Bowman Chrome (Bowman packs I rarely open to be honest).  Here it is, my first and only Simmons auto, one that I will keep for my `Dutch` collection !

I am looking forward seeing him play for the Braves this season !

More Milestones !!

Not a blog Milestone today but more Glavine Milestones !! I was able to make a good deal with someone and get several 2008 Moments & Milestones. The great thing is that these were not the regular ones numbered to #/150 but these were all numbered to #/25 so a pretty rare find (or maybe nobody is simply as silly as me trying to complete the full set of course !).

Here are 6 out of the 11 I received. If you have any lying around your house and desperately looking for a new home let me know, I will take good care of them !!!

Verlander !

So Verlander recently extended his contract and so he will be with the Tigers for years to come ! Of course a second best scenario as the best scenario would be him joining the Yankees (yep, in my dreams given the struggles the Yankees have with their payroll...). Here are two of his cards I recently picked up for my collection, 2 Paninis to be exact ! Very similar Jerseys, very similar pictures and fairly "white" cards but all in all happy to own them !

Back to the Glory Days !!

Today's its time for 2 great golden oldies cards !! First up is a great SP Legendary Cuts "Glory Days" card of Yogi Berra, the greatest catcher in Yankees history, winning 10 World Series. A beautiful card if you ask me ! According to Upper Deck (for what's it worth) the card includes a piece of pants worn by mr Berra during an official Yankees MLB game !

Next up is another great looking card, another SP Legendary Cuts card from 2005, Sparky Lyle. As a reliever he win several World Series and personally received a CY Young award as well.

I really like these cards and hope to get my hands on some more in the future !!

Schoop, Schoop !!

The Dutch Team (or Kingdom of the Netherlands) again did a great job during the recent World Baseball Classics, reaching the Semi-finals and playing some fun, passionate games. One of the guys on the team, Jonathan Schoop, is one of the new, up and coming Orioles players. Last week I was able to get one of his auto cards, a 2012 Bowman Sterling, my first Schoop auto !!

It's fun to have some cards of the Dutch guys so happy to have this one in my collection. With such a young team I am looking forward to the next WBC !!

A 2 by 3 Mini Trade !!

A few days back I received some cool cards from one of my regular trading partners, Jeff at 2 by 3 Heroes !! Jeff noticed I am still trying to complete the Kimball minis set and he had a few for me. Here are 2 great cards, Ozzie Smith and Joe DiMaggio, I really like these !

Jeff send me a few more !

So another step closer to completing this set. I still need a few so let me know if you have any for trade !! These are still missing: 7, 51, 52, 54, 55, 71, 72, 80, 84, 86, 94, 95, 106.

To finish the pack Jeff also added a nice Rivera Chrome which was still missing in my collection !

Thanks so much Jeff for these cool cards. A return package is on its way !!

Topps 206 Mini Relic Booklet

I recently came across a cool Topps 206 mini booklet which I had never seen before. As it had Lincecum, one of the players I collect, next to Greinke, I decided to go for it. To my surprise these cards are not popular at all and I got it on the cheap.

Let's start with the back. As you can see, a little damaged but oke. It's my first mini booklet so I am happy to look past that ! These are apparently numbered to 99.

Here's the inside, 2 relics, a bat and a jersey. To me it remains a strange concept, pitchers with bat relics !

All in all a great addition to my Lincecum collection !
