My last batch of Kershaws

The last batch of COMC Kershaw cards arrived last week. As I announced recently, I am letting go of my Kershaw collection and are planning so sell most of the cards over the next few quarters and years, whenever there is interest. Trade with a Card Obsessive Collector !

Trading has been very slow here in the Netherlands, mainly due to my own inactivity as life has been hectic recently. However, when I came back from a business trip a surprise package was lying at my doorstep, waiting to be opened. The package was from Matt aka Scooterboy at Card Obsessive Collector. Matt is based in the UK just launched his blog so do check it out and bookmark it !

So what did Matt send me you are asking ? Well, miiinniiiissssssss !!!! A nice pile of minis that I was still looking for as I am trying to complete all the Gypsy Queen mini sets. Here's a bunch from last year's GQ.

Matt send even more minis with a selection from 2014, 2013 and 2012 GQ !

To finish it off Matt send me a bunch of Yankees Stadium Legacy, a huge set I am trying to complete and will keep me busy for another 10 years ! So if you have any around feel free to send them my way !!

2011 Gypsy Queen !

As some of you might know I have been trying to complete the 2011 Gypsy Queen Auto & Relic set for several years now, a slow and gradual adventure. I have not been able to add much since the summer but recently saw one great card appear and was able to score it for my collection. Here it is, my latest 2011 GQ auto, Ryan Sandberg !!

Love the card (although the auto looks a bit messy!). Still a couple to go, and likely a few more years, but we are gradually getting there !! Here's my current collection. The ones I still need are obviously missing !

I am back !!

Yesterday we arrived back here in Holland after spending two weeks in Florida ! Although we had a great time with the family it's always great to come home, even despite the jetlag !! During the two weeks in Florida I visited 2 LCS, a Walmart, a Target and hence broke some boxes of wax as well (including 2015 GQ, Series 1, and Diamond Kings) ! Stay tuned in the coming days for a few posts on this visits and box breaks !!

The great thing about arriving home after a two week holiday is that this usually means some packages in the mailbox ! Although trading has been a little light in recent weeks I still found two packages at my doorstep, one from Topps and one from Italy !

Here's the one from Topps, a Gold-Parallel Glavine Gypsy Queen card numbered to only 25 !!

Another cool 2x3 Trade !!

A few days ago I received a very cool yellow envelop, one from Jeff at 2x3 Heroes. Jeff and I have been sending each other packages on a regular basis and this was again an awesome package !

The focus of the package was Allen & Ginter and Gypsy Queen, my two favourite packages of the year. Let's see what Jeff had in story for me !

A Big 44 trade !!

Trading has been slower than normal lately, also because I am very busy at work and therefore have less time to chase some new deals ! Still, I was able to set up a cool trade with Nate recently at Big 44 Cards. Here's the loot !!

First up a bunch of minis !! I love minis and I am still trying to complete several sets including the GQ mini sets. Therefore these were very welcome !!

I also still need a bunch of base cards and Nate send me two nice ones !!

Nate also send me a few 2013 inserts I still needed !!!

Lastly, Nate send me a Verlander Relic card, a cool addition to my Verlander PC !!

My First Leather !

I noticed that the Gypsy Queen mini sets all have a 1/1 leather mini. Never saw one in real life but recently a leather Blyleven popped-up on eBay. I knew this was my chance to get my hands on some leather and the fact that I am one of the few collecting Blyleven cards helps as well in this respect !

So long-story short...here is my first leather mini card !!

Back from Holiday with a redemption !!

After a nice little break with the family I am back ! Clearly I missed all the Allen & Ginter fun in the last week but I promise you I will do some catching up in the coming weeks. One of the nice things about coming home is the usual nice pile of yellow envelops on my doorstep and this time was no different !!

One of the packages was from Topps !! Yes, a redemption, a Gypsy Queen redemption !! Meet Carl Ripken Jr. !!

A cool card and already my third succesfull Topps redemption. No failures yet despite all the horror stories on the blogs. More redemptions to come in a future post, this time from a guy collect !!

A UK Trade !!!

I finally found another way of getting rid of my Red Sox cards (instead of burning them or throwing them away!). John at Pursuitof80s blog, another baseball card collector based in Europe (UK) like me, collects Red Sox cards !!

I send him a bunch of Red Sox cards and a return package arrived at my doorstep earlier this week. Some cool cards from my Want list were included and some cool Yankees cards as well !! Here they are !!

First up a great Jeter 2010 Heritage card, numbered to only 61 !! In addition, one of the very cool Cut to the Chase cards !

Next up minis !! I love minis and still trying to complete several minis sets so these additions are very helpful !! Another mini for my Kershaw collection as well !!

Next up, a great 2011 Gypsy Queen card, I still only have a few of the base cards so still looking for loads of them. Also a cool mascot card (3 more to go I think!).

2009 Allen & Ginter !! Like 2011 GQ I only have a few 2009 A&G yet so still need a lot including this one ! Also the most hated Yankee (also by me to be honest), A-Rod.

Two young Jeter cards were included as well....he looks really young here !

Lastly, 2 cards I still needed, a 2012 insert and a 2012 Archives base card !

The package included a bunch more Yankees so thanks very much John for the trade ! Great to have another place to unload my Red Sox in the future !

Trading with Rosenort !!

I received one of the best cards this year in a trade package !! It came from Rosenort at Condition Sensitive !! We recently set-up a cool trade as he had some minis for my Gypsy Queen sets while I had some cards for him as well ! However, the best card wasn't a mini !!

Do you notice it has a non-sticker auto on it as well !! I need to get me one of those with a Dutch Card Guy logo on it !!!

Let's move to the cards ! Rosenort send me a bunch of 2013 GQ minis, including some photo variations !!

Some 2012 GQ minis were included as well, very welcome as I still need a lot of them !!

Lastly, Rosenort added two cards of one of the Dutch legends, Bert Blyleven !!!

More Minis !!!!

I recently won a "minis" lot on eBay with a variety of 200 minis from A&G, GQ and several other sets !! As I still need a bunch of minis to complete several of the minis sets I went for it and actually won easily as no one was bidding against me ! Here's a snapshot of the minis that were included !!

As you can see a wide variety of minis sets !

The lot also included a small pile of N43s from this year's Allen & Ginter. The following three are doubles so if you are interested I am happy to trade them !

All in all a very fun lot resulting in a lot of sorting to do so hopefully I will have my complete A&G pre-2012 and GQ Minis Want Lists soon !
