More Minis !!

Quick post today as I am still too much focussed on all the World Cup games that are going on. Next one for us, Costa Rica on Saturday !

Another Bob Walk the Plank trade !!

A few days ago I showed you my 2nd trade with Max, today I will show a 2nd trade with Matt at Bob Walk the Plank ! Matt had a few more cards for me in store and I had some more Pirates for him ! Here's the loot !!

Let's start with the coolest card, a Gary Sheffield "base" card. Just to stress, this is not a simple "base card" but actually has a piece of a "base" as a relic ! My first "base" relic card in my collection !!

Next up a bunch of minis, Matt send me a pile of 2013 Gypsy Queen minis. I am still trying to complete the minis set so this was a big help ! If you have any for trade do let me know !!

Matt also send me some cool Prizm cards, here's Kershaw and Rizzo !

A cool Sabathis was also included, here he is as an Indian ! Let's hope he will improve his game this year.

Another cool relic card, one of the few players of the Dutch team, Andruw Jones, and Pettitte !

Got myself some Wood !

A few months ago I was able to pick up my first "leather" card. It was a 2013 Gypsy Queen Blyleven mini. I am all into minis and like the Gypsy Queen set as well. Combining this with one of my favourite players is the best combo. Therefore, I am very happy to now be able to present my first "wood" mini card !! Again the 2013 Gypsy Queen Blyleven mini !

Rizzo & Castro !

I love the Gypsy Queen set and about 6 months ago I started collecting Rizzo. One cool card I have been eyeing since then. I have watched it come down from $150 to $125 to $115 to $95, partly helped by the fall off in Rizzo's momentum in recent months. When a version appeared recently I took the opportunity and grabbed it. I still paid slightly over $70 for it so clearly not cheap but I think it's worth it !! Meet my latest addition to the Rizzo PC, a dual auto, dual relic card, numbered to only 25 !!

Got myself some more Coins !

It continues to intrigue me, the concept of a coin inside a baseball card. Not sure what the thinking is behind the concept, in particular given that these are not even old coins or anything but just a recent quarter of a dollar, or at least this one. Still, it's Blyleven and I like to chase Blyleven cards, including this one !!

What do you guys think, should Topps continue with the Coin cards or not ?

I have been watching one of the cool Gypsy Queen Hometown Currency cards for a while now and the seller finally came down to a more reasonable level. Long story short: Here is my latest and coolest Rizzo card !!

More minis !!

I am still in a quest to complete the 2013 Gyspsy Queen minis set. I am having some nice progress but still have a bunch to go. Last week I was able to pick up a few more. Here they are!

My best GQ Mini !!!

I love Gypsy Queen and I love minis so any combination is really love. Combine this with Rizzo, the latest players I started to collect, throw in an Auto and one has a awesome combination. I was lucky enough to be able to pick up one of these, numbered to only 10 ! Here it is, my best GQ mini so far !!!

I recently picked up a small lot of 2013 Gypsy Queen minis in my quest to complete the full set this year ! The lot included some doubles which are for trade, they should all be photo variations.

Quick post today with my latest Silk Collection card, a 2013 Kershaw !!

Hope to pick up some more Silk Collections in the future !! I was able able to score a nice Gypsy Queen mini relic card of Kershaw, a really like these mini relic cards !

Gypsy Queen for trade !!

I finally had some time to go through my 2013 Gypsy Queen cards in a systematic way and now have my Want List ready !! I have a big pile of base cards for trade as well as some of the inserts so if you are looking to complete the set as well let's set up a trade !!

I am also chasing the complete minis set so that will be a bigger challenge I expect, but I like challenges !!

GQ box 3 !!

Time for GQ 2013 box 3 !! Let's keep it short today and start with the two autos ! Blue and Miley. don't know much about Miley to be honest but love the Vida Blue autograph for my pitchers collection !!

and now for the two relic cards, as said before, I am not really impressed by the plain old GQ relic cards and can't get too excited by the Haren. I do like the framed relics, here's Belt !!

The blue-framed numbered card of the box was Weeks !! I really like these blue-framed cards !!

Let's finish with the 3 numbered minis which included Profar, the best "Dutch" propsect in today's baseball so very happy with this mini !!

Zimmerman Hotbox !!

Oke, time for GQ box 2 !! This time a Zimmermann hotbox !! So I pulled both the Zimmermann relic as well as the Zimmermann auto ! Talk about a coincidence ! Although I am not a big fan of the non-framed relics of GQ 2013 I do like the Auto cards !

The two other hits of the box were a cool framed relic card of Rolen of the Reds and a Ruiz auto of the Phillies.

The blue-framed numbered card of the box was a cool looking Stargell !!

Last up, the numbered minis of the box, a great black Strawberry and Koufax and a brown Fister.

Time to open up box 3 !

GQ Hit !!

So, after taking two of the pricey, "but a high chance of a great hit", teams in Sam's GQ Case Break last week (I took the Yankees and Dodgers) I needed some "comfort wax" as the case break left me hitless (despite Sam's great efforts, thanks Sam!!)..... Luckily, the wait was only a few more days as my 3 GQ hobby boxes arrived today in the mail !! So let's break some wax !!!

As many of you already have seen plenty of base and insert cards let me stick to the hits. Here's the best one, compensating for Sam's hitless case break, a Cal Ripken Jr Autograph card !!!!! Not sure how I feel about a redemption, my third one already and never ever seen one arrive at my doorstep yet but I have high hopes someday these will turn in something cool !! My second auto was a Steward auto of the Athletics, I like the GQ auto cards although I don't have that much with this guy...

My two relics were a Texas Rangers Moreland and Peralta of the Tigers. I continue to like the framed minis !

Furthermore, the box contained a nice blue-framed numbered card of Adams of the Cardinals !

Lastly, 3 numbered minis were included ! A cool Kuroda (/99), a nice Volgelsong (/199) and a great Seaver (/50) for my Seaver collection !!

Those were the highlights of box 1, pretty happy with the Ripken !! Let me quick starting opening box 2 and 3.
