Awesome package from William !

Some of you might remember that I pulled a A&G RIP card (or actually two last year) and from one of them came a Chris Davis high-numbered mini. Clearly this card was something for William at Foul Bunt. Due to the fact that I was swamped with a lot of (work) stuff I contacted William only recently but of course in the end a great trade was born ! Here's a few cards that William send me.

The trade was mainly around a pink mini. Yes, today pink is my favourite color !! Meet my favourite, still active, pitcher, Clayton Kershaw !! All in pink and numbered to only 25 !!

It's getting harder and harder to (super) collect Kershaw, more on that in a future post, so this is a great addition to my Kershaw Collection !!

William also send me a bunch of extras, awesome extras !! Here's are two cool Blyleven cards !

First one is a 1981 Topps card and the second one some kind of stamp ? Any hint on the origin of the second one is very welcome as the back is simply blank !!

William also included my favourite (ex) Yankees pitcher, Rivera ! This one from Topps Update if I am not mistaken. He also included a bunch of Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan cards, probably the two pitchers I would more seriously collect if I weren't so busy with my Glavine, Blyleven, Kershaw and Rizzo collections !

A few more Kershaw cards were included, these two are new additions so very happy with those. Both from Topps Update if I am not mistaken.

Although a bunch more cards were included in the pack let's finish with two more Blyleven cards, the Flying Dutchman !!

A Buck Store Trade !!

A while back I was contacted by Douglas at BuckStoreCards as he had some cool cards from my Want List !! Whenever that happens I make sure a trade is quickly born !! The cards arrived a few days ago, have a look !!

First up, the best inserts of 2013, the Elite/Greats from Topps Flagship product !

Two golden Oldies, Seaver and Yogi Berra !!

More inserts !! A cool Allen & Ginter one and Cut to the Chase Mike Trout !

More cool cards, legendary (to be)pitchers !!

Lastly, minis !!!! I still need loads so these are very welcome !!

GQ Hit !!

So, after taking two of the pricey, "but a high chance of a great hit", teams in Sam's GQ Case Break last week (I took the Yankees and Dodgers) I needed some "comfort wax" as the case break left me hitless (despite Sam's great efforts, thanks Sam!!)..... Luckily, the wait was only a few more days as my 3 GQ hobby boxes arrived today in the mail !! So let's break some wax !!!

As many of you already have seen plenty of base and insert cards let me stick to the hits. Here's the best one, compensating for Sam's hitless case break, a Cal Ripken Jr Autograph card !!!!! Not sure how I feel about a redemption, my third one already and never ever seen one arrive at my doorstep yet but I have high hopes someday these will turn in something cool !! My second auto was a Steward auto of the Athletics, I like the GQ auto cards although I don't have that much with this guy...

My two relics were a Texas Rangers Moreland and Peralta of the Tigers. I continue to like the framed minis !

Furthermore, the box contained a nice blue-framed numbered card of Adams of the Cardinals !

Lastly, 3 numbered minis were included ! A cool Kuroda (/99), a nice Volgelsong (/199) and a great Seaver (/50) for my Seaver collection !!

Those were the highlights of box 1, pretty happy with the Ripken !! Let me quick starting opening box 2 and 3.

Diamond King Draft Loot !

I recently participated in a fun card draft organized by Kevin at the Diamond King. This week a nice pile of cards arrived !! Although I couldn't resist some Glavines I also scored a bunch of cool vintage cards and these vintage cards are gradually growing on me so happy to have received some more from this draft !

Well, let's first start with the Glavines ! One cool relic card, Upper Deck Timeline, and his Score Rookie card !

The package included some more cool pitchers, here's Sabathia and Seaver, both numbered !

Let's move to the vintage !! One of the 1957 Pirates and 1969 Marichal Scratch Off card, I like these vintage cards !

 Two great looking 1964 Topps cards ! I don't know these players so something for me to research !

These are the oldest cards of the lot, 1952 Mothers Coockies ! I clearly need to start doing some research on these vintage sets, never heard of these !

Another cool vintage card, really like the look of this Topps set from 1960 !

Let's finish off this post with a Yankee as (sarcastic mode on) I know you all love the Yankees (sarcastic mode off) !! a cool numbered Munson Donruss Classic card !

A Trade with Chuck !

A while back Chuck at Chuck's Used Cards contacted me, looking for European Soccer cards ! Although I am still making him a nice package as we speak, he did already send me some nice baseball cards which arrived earlier this week !

The package started with some vintage, a 1969 Jake Gibbs, the Yankees nr1 catcher in those days !

 

Chuck also send me two 2008 Allen & Ginter  of which I still needed the Litz so very happy with that !!

The Flying Dutchman, Bert Blyleven was also present, a nice addition to my recently started Blyleven PC ! And a Seaver card is always appreciated as well !

Chuck also included some more cool 80ties cards, sets I am still trying to complete !

Masterpieces: Only one more to go !!

I consider Upper Deck 2008 Masterpieces to be one of the coolest sets that has come out in recent years and I am still working hard in trying to complete it. Recently I decided to check out COMC to make another push. Late last week a cool package arrived included a bunch of 2008 Masterpieces ! This means I am only 1, yes only 1, card away from completion !! The only card I am still looking for is number 94 which should be Ryne Sandberg of the Cubs. Well....as the package came directly from COMC.....let's Check Out My Cards !!

First-up, Johnny Bench and Frank Robinson

Couple more cool cards !

Two more, Musial and Griffey Jr.

The Seaver is also a great card !

Lastly, I hope to be as happy as Jeter here when I get my hands on number 94 to complete the set !!!!
