Trade package incoming !!

Collecting has been slow, very slow with only a bit of focus on eBay in recent months. Therefore, I was happily suprised when Sam at TheDailyDimwit contacted my asking for my address. Apparently, he still had some cards from 1 or 2 years ago that had my earmark on it !! Of course I quickly provided him with my new address after my recent move and last week a yellow envelop arrived !! Sam has been one of my first trading partners when I started collecting and if I remember correctly he was the first one that let a unknown European guy into his "box breaks". I am still very thankful for that as it lead to more people that were happy to deal with me !

Anyways, I know you all want to know what was in the package ! Well here's what was in it !

First up,a cool Glavine UD Masterpiece card. I love the Masterpiece set and any package was a Glavine card is already an awesome package !!

Next-up, a nice Triple Threads Jeter card, just from before his retirement.

The last card was the card it was all about, meet CC Sabathia.

I can't recall if I won this card, if I bought it and had it delivered to Sam or if I made a deal with Sam for this one. So Sam, in case I still owe you something for this card do let me know as my memory is letting me down on this one !!

Group Break Loot - Dimwit Style !

The first group break loot of the year came in late last week !! A great package from Sam at the Daily Dimwit ! Sam had a selection of cool boxes: 2012 GQ, 2008 Masterpieces and some 2008 Goudey ! As the Yankees were already taken I took the Dodgers (and got allocated the Reds) for some trade bait and Kershaw cards, while GQ minis are always welcome anyways as I am trying to complete the full set ! I had some great loot with an autograph (for trade!), several Kershaw cards and minis !!

Let's start with the trade bait cards, a numbered Johnny Bench blue-framed card and a GQ auto card of Stubbs ! In case you are interested in setting up a trade around one of these let me know!

One of the best sets of the last 10 years, in my opinion of course, has been the 2008 Upper Deck Masterpieces set. I only need 1 card to complete the set, nr 94 !! nr 94 did not show up so if you happen to have that one or still need a bunch of 2008 Masterpieces, I have plenty to trade including these...

Did I say Kershaw ? Yes, lucky for me the loot included some Kershaw cards,  including this 2012 GQ SP card I was still missing !! Only a few more SPs to go to complete my 2012 GQ set !

Minis, did I hear Minis ?!?!?! Yes, a bunch of minis were included, helping me try to complete all the 2012 GQ mini subsets (big challenge but a fun one !).

Brown-bordered GQs have been difficult to get here in Europe as they are only included in retail as far as I understand (and those are difficult to come by here). The break included a couple of nice ones including Kershaw and Koufax !!

All in all I probalby have around 60 cards from this break for trade from these 3 sets so if you want to set up a trade let me know !!

Masterpieces: Only one more to go !!

I consider Upper Deck 2008 Masterpieces to be one of the coolest sets that has come out in recent years and I am still working hard in trying to complete it. Recently I decided to check out COMC to make another push. Late last week a cool package arrived included a bunch of 2008 Masterpieces ! This means I am only 1, yes only 1, card away from completion !! The only card I am still looking for is number 94 which should be Ryne Sandberg of the Cubs. Well....as the package came directly from COMC.....let's Check Out My Cards !!

First-up, Johnny Bench and Frank Robinson

Two more, Musial and Griffey Jr.

The Seaver is also a great card !

Lastly, I hope to be as happy as Jeter here when I get my hands on number 94 to complete the set !!!!

No one's going to read this post !

I recently received a mail from Jeremy at "No one's going to read this blog", proposing a cool trade in which a pile of Allen & Ginter were going my way, taking a nice bite out of my Allen & Ginter Want List.

First up are some cool Yankees minis from A&G 2009, Gardner, Chamberlain and Burnett.

The big A&G pile was a pile of the 2010 set, a set I have almost complete !

Jeremy also helped me out with some missing mascots and other 2011 Opening Day cards !!

Two cool cards from one of the best sets of the last decade: Masterpieces !!

Several Yankees from the 1980 Topps set also popped-up, here's Guidry and Dent !

Lastly, a few 2009 Goodwin appeared !! Two Yankees, Ford and Skowron !

The "hit"of the package was a cool CC Sabathia Relic !!! Not sure where the red is coming from !

All in all a cool package so many thanks Jeremy, looking forward to the next trade !!

Trade Bait Draft Loot from JABO !

Today just a quick post with some cards as I have to get back to enjoying a sunny day in the Netherlands ! Already a while back I participated in Kyle's Trade Bait Draft at his blog Juuust a bit Outside (JABO). He had a cool collection of cards to chase and the loot arrived a while back. This is what was in the package:

I am a big fan of the Masterpieces set and still only need a few cards towards completing the set. Here's one of Gehrig, a really nice card. The card draft also helped my to get one step closer to completing this year's Gypsy Queen set, adding one more of the SPs. I still need a few SPs so if you have some lying around do check out my Want List and my Trade Bait list and let's set-up a trade !

I was also able to score two 2011 Topps Finest cards I was missing. Getting close to completing the set, only a few more to go !

Also another step closer to completing my Topps Series 1 set with this Pujols addition ! Also scored a cool Griffey card !

Another Gehrig in the pack !! I also really like the Cano Chrome card, nice additions to me Yankees collection !

Mickey Mantle also joined the trade bait party !

Minis were also present and I was able to score me some more Lineage minis !! Still tons I don't have yet but we are slowly working towards completion (although very slowly as I guestimate being at only 20% completion or so !)

I also very much like this Jeter card so happy I was able to get my hands on it during the draft !!

As usual, Kyle was nice enough to add a few extra cards to the package, like e.g. these Topps Total Yankees cards !
