New Sabathia additions !

My Sabathia collection has been moved a bit to the background in recent months with my focus being on Kerhsaw and Rizzo as well as Glavine (of course!) and Blyleven. However, last week I was able to pick up two cool new additions. Here's a cool, silk, Allen & Ginter card, numbered to only 10 !!

Also, a 2005 Leaf relic card, Patch off my Back, Sabathia as an Indian !

That's it for today, in case you have any spare Sabathia's always let me know and I am happy to set up a trade !!

More Dimwit Loot !

I recently participated in a cool box break by Sam at TheDailyDimwit, breaking several boxes including 2011 Allen & Ginter, 2011 Lineage, 2006 Ovation and 2011 Topps Chrome. I was in time to claim the Yankees with the randomizer giving me the Brewers. Here's a portion of what was included in the package !!

Let's start with the hits...and I was lucky enough to have a few !! Another Hector Noesi card for my Yankees collection although he is not a Yankee anymore...same for Burnett and given that I already own one of these it is up for trade !!

The loot also included a numbered Robinson Cano and a very cool Sabathia for my player collection !

Mariano Rivera was also present so I could add a Lineage Stand-up card to my Rivera PC !

I really like the Ovation set from 2006, one that I have been able to complete and for which I am only looking for some "gold" variations. Here are two examples, both for trade !

All in all a cool break so thanks very much for organising it Sam! Looking forward to the next one!

By the way, I have plenty of 2011 Lineage, 2011 A&G and 2006 Ovations for trade so if you still need anything from these sets let me know ! When it comes to trading however, I am going to complain a little in the next few days so stay tuned !!

Thanks for the visit today !

Trade with the Toddfather !

A few weeks ago Tim at the Home of the Toddfather contacted me as he had several cards from my Want List. Tim clearly had done a lot of digging already and was going to do some good damage to my Want List ! Luckily I had some good stuff for him as well (or so I hope!) and a trade was quickly born. The cards were already waiting for me when I came home from a nice holiday with the family.

The first few cards helped me getting closer to completing my 2011 A&G set. I now only need 3 more cards (70, 80, 275) so I am getting very close !!

Same holds true for 2012 Archives where Tim also send me a few that helped me moving closer towards completion ! 42 more to go: 8, 10, 15, 39, 45, 53, 58, 70, 73, 123, 141, 142, 146, 157, 173, 181, 193, 202, 203, 205, 206, 207, 209, 210, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, 218, 219, 220, 224, 225, 226, 227, 228, 230, 232, 234, 239, 240.

Tim also helped me with my 2012 Topps set !

In addition to helping me with my set needs some cool pitcher cards were included as well !! Here´s Rivera and Sabathia !

Verlander and Kershaw were also present !!

Lastly, Tim also included some cards of my favourite pitcher: Glavine !!!

All in all a cool trade so thanks very much Tim !!! Next posts will discuss my Topps Mini boxes which yielded some cool hits so stay tuned !!

Trading with Potch !

Potch at Potch Wheeler and the Cardboard Heroes recently responded to one of my Trade Bait posts, looking for some Heritage, Allen & Ginter and Lineage cards which I had lying around waiting for a new owner. Potch found me some 2011 Gypsy Queen cards in return, a set I only recently started collecting so his help was much appreciated. He also added a few more cards from my Want List, including the following, One of the Ripken Golden Greats I was still missing !! I am steadily closing in on completing this set !

Furthermore, Potch found me one of my missing Hometown Heroes from the 2011 A&G set

As said, greatly appreciated were 30 or so 2011 Gypsy Queen base cards. Here´s Ramirez and Zito !

Potch also added a few cool insert cards including Future Stars and Wall Climbers...

..... as well as one of the sticky fingers inserts !

Thanks Potch for a cool trade and helping me get started with my 2011 Gypsy Queen set !! Looking forward to our next trade !

A package from the Great Orioles !

It has been a little slow with new posts on my blog as I have been away for the weekend with my wife. Returning from our trip I found a great package at my doorstep, packed with cool cards ! The package came from Ryan at the Great Orioles Autograph Project. Ryan still needed a bunch of 2011 Heritage as well as several 2012 Topps Series 1 of which I had plenty still lying around catching dust. I added several Vladdy cards as well.

What I got in return was simply awesome !! A big pile of random Yankees cards and several cards that I needed for a range of sets ! First up, 2 of the Golden Greats that were still on my Want List. Hopefully, I am able to complete the full set before Series 2 comes out !

Two more cards from my Want List: two of the 2011 Openings Day Mascottes !!

Another one of the sets I am trying to complete, and one that will probably will take me a few years, is Yankees Stadium Legacy. Ryan helped me out with a few more, so much appreciated !!

I also became a big fan of Allen & Ginter and I am still trying to complete the sets that came out in previous years. Ryan send a big pile of A&G 2010 my way while also adding a few 2008 and 2009 A&G cards !! Here two 2010 rookie cards !

...as well as two non-baseball 2008 Allen & Ginter cards, one of which seems like a fisherman with a Dutch name but no clue who he is !!

To finish off the A&G content of the package, a nice 2009 Allen & Ginter Alex Rodriguez

Ryan also send me some random Yankees cards as well as some of my favourite pitchers ! Here's Ruth and Lincecum

Another Lincecum and a nice Sabathia !

Lastly, Nolan Ryan was present as well ! I really like the Legends of the Game inserts although clearly the rainbow Astros uniform on the Topps 60 is the best !

One of the best cards I received was a Tom Glavine card I didn't own yet and had never seen before: MooTown Snackers ! A great addition to my, steadily growing, Tom Glavine collection !

All in all a really great package from Ryan, of which the cards above only represented a fraction of it all !! He took a really big chunk out of my Want List, especially the A&G part. Thanks Ryan for the awesome trade and I am looking forward to a next one !!
