Attention fellow traders !!!

As you can see on my Trade Trail overview, I trade a lot. I think it's fun and great that people inside (and sometimes outside) the blogosphere trade so easily with a guy from Holland. Therefore, I first want to thank each and every one of you for your willingness to trade with me, it makes collection so much more fun !!!

Still, I have a small request and I do feel a bit hesitant to ask as I appreciate your willingness to trade with me sooo much. However, I want to make everyone aware that when you send me a cool yellow bubble mailer, please be "conservative" with the estimated value in case you are asked to put such a number on the envelop. To give you a recent example, I received a great, great package from someone with an amount of $100 on it. I am not sure if it was worth a $100 or not but do note that that package cost me $50 in import costs and administrative fees :-)))) I am not going to mention names as I, again, really appreciate everyone that trades with me and I hope for this to continue for a long long time. My only request, be conservative when asked for the value :-))

Many thanks !! And as every post deserves a card, here is my latest addition to my 2011 Gypsy Queen Auto chase, Jose Bautista !!

Huge Wicked Trade !!!

A few months ago, when browsing the internet in search for cool baseball card blogs, I came across I large trade bait page with lots of interesting stuff. As I didn't know Wicked at The Cardboard Don yet I decided to simply contact him and to see what happens. Lucky for me Wicked found enough interesting stuff on my Trade Bait Page as well so after a couple of rounds going back and forth we came to a large and awesome trade. A few days ago a big envelop arrived at my doorstep with the following.....

First-up the Flying Dutchman, Bert Blyleven !! A cool auto I didn't own yet so a nice addition to my Blyleven Collection !

Wicked send me my first Bobby Abreu auto card as well, a nice addition to my Yankees collection!
Besides the autograph cards Wicked also send me a bunch of relic cards. Check out this cool Pepitone, numbered to #/40 from 2009 Upper Deck Icons !

I also really like this Tino Martinez Legendary Cuts relic card (#/75)
Two more Yankee relic cards, Sheffield and Gooden !

A trade that includes a Glavine I don't own yet is a good trade. A trade with 2 Glavines is always awesome !!

Mike Mussina also joined the party with a nice pinestripe jersey relic !
Wicked even send me a few more relics including Winfield and Abreu and in addition a pile of Yankees cards, great Yankees cards I must say ! A couple of Yankee Stadium Legacy cards were included ! As you might know I am chasing this set and need at least 5,000 more so these are always great when they are included in a package !!

Sabathia was also included as was one of the few, if not the only, Dutch Yankees player in history, Robert Eenhoorn !

Let me finish with these two very nice looking Pitcher cards, Tommy John and Guidry !

All in all an awesome trade so thanks very much Wicked !!! Check out his blog and his trade bait page for some awesome cards !

Thanks everyone for visiting my blog and enjoy the weekend !

Jeremy's package

One of my (hopefully growing population of) readers, Jeremy, contacted me recently about a trade as he had some Topps Series 2 from my Want List and was looking for a lot of 2012 base, which I happen to have plenty of ! So we ironed out a quick trade and earlier this week a nice package arrived at my doorstep !

The first card was one of the Mound Dominance I was still missing: John Smoltz !

Mickey Mantle was also present ! and the minis I love, here's Weaver !!

I really like the A Cut Above inserts so receiving two new ones is great, in particular on of my favourite pitchers, Verlander !!

Jeremy also included a few 2012 Archives that I was still missing !

Lastly, the coolest thing in the packages I often receive are surprise Glavine cards. Jeremy also included a few that made my day !!! Here's two.

Thanks Jeremy for the cool package and looking forward to the next trade !

Sports Obsessions Loot !

When I returned from the US this weekend a nice package with vintage cards was waiting for me to be opened ! A while back, Jeff at My Sports Obsessions wanted to get rid of some extra Topps cards from the 70ties and early 80ties he had lying around and I happily volunteered to take some off his hands ! I picked his extras from the 1976 and the 1981 sets. Basically my goal is to try to complete all the "normal" Topps sets from all the years (series 1&2) so this was a great opportunity to add some to my collection. The 1976 set seemed like a cool starting point as it was the year I was born (yes, I am still a young guy !!) while the 1981 set was more of a random set I picked.

Starting with the 1976 set some cool cards were included. As I like great pitchers this Seaver is a great addition to my collection. Yankees are, of course, also always a welcome addition !

I also like the look and feel of these two cards, Roy White and Boog Powell.

The 1976 set also includes newspaper like cards (not sure why the colours of the Dutch flag are at the bottom)

All in all, I like the 1976 set and I will have fun trying to complete it in the coming years ! Of course, in case you have any excess 1976 cards lying around I am always happy to help you clean up ! The 1981 set is also fun, here is another Yankees card and Tom's back as well !

Two more from the '81 set: Winfield and Murcer !

Let me finish with my favourite, and by most hated, team, the Yankees !

Before I forget, Mike Tyson was also included in his former role as a baseball player, I guess before he turned pro-boxer ! (oke sorry, that was probably a lame joke....)

Jeff, thanks you so much for giving me a good start with my quest to complete the '76 and '81 sets !! Hope you enjoyed the package I send you in return !

Another Day, Another Trade !

Almost done catching up with my backlog of trades. Today, a cool trade with Tim, who you might know as the Big Kahuna, at his blog Enough Already. Here's what the Big Kahuna send me !!

The trade centered around a cool 2011 Topps Lineage mini relic card of Kershaw. I really liked the Lineage set and love minis so a Lineage mini WITH a relic is a great addition to my Kershaw collection !

Tim also helped me out big time with my Allen & Ginter Needs for both the 2008 and 2010 sets !! First up, 2 of my favourite pitchers, Verlander and Lincecum !

Sabathia was also in the pack !!

Tim also send me a pile of 2010 Allen & Ginter cards including 2 Yankees !!

and two non-baseball players cards, two guys I have never heard of but that's probably just me not living in the US currently !

Many thanks Tim for doing some good damage to my Allen & Ginter needs, this brings my a big step closer to completing the 2008 & 2010 sets !! Looking forward to our next trade !!

Trade with the Diamond King !

I am still catching up with all the trades I have done in recent weeks. One of these cool trades was with Kevin at the Diamond King. He contacted me recently as I had some Diamond Kings in my trade bait and things progressed quickly from there. In the end a great package arrived at my doorstep last week. Below some of the cool cards that were included. I am a bit busy at the moment so little comments, just nice cards for you to look at !!

Kevin send me a wide variety of cool cards. Let's start with 2 of my favourite pitchers: Verlander and Glavine !

Sabathia also had a spot in the line-up ! I really like the Topps Gold Label set !

Here are two Yankees from 2 very cool sets, Munson and a Teixeira mini !

More Yankees ! Babe Ruth and Robinson Cano !

Yogi Berra was also in the mix, a really nice card !

Mattingly and Jeter were also in the line-up !

Another cool Don Mattingly card

Another great looking Jeter card !!

Another nice Ruth and a Heritage Verlander !!

Kevin also send me a really nice numbered Seaver and several Nolan's !!

Another Nolan and a cool Cano !

To finish off Kevin included a cool Babe Ruth Power Deck CD card. I haven't been able to play it yet but I am really looking forward to it !

All in all, the package included many more great cards. Thanks Kevin for a great trade !!
