Group Break Loot !!

A few months ago I participated in one of Chris' Group Breaks at Nachos Grande. If I remember correctly the group break was for a few boxes of Finest as well as some boxes of Donruss. I got the Dodgers in the break and was allocated the Indians as well. Here's some of the loot !

First up a few Corey Seager cards, both from the Donruss boxes !! The Elite Series cards looks pretty cool and is numbered to 999.

Next up a cool insert card from Topps Finest, Franchise Finest ! I always like the look and feel of Topps Finest cards.

Another insert came my way, I USA Baseball card of KJ Harrison. It looks kinda cool !

I even was lucky enough to get one of the hits !! A Topps Finest Auto of Indian Kluber !!

Archives loot !!

Achives !! Well acutally I don't like this year's archives a lot. Still, a group break is always fun so I joined Chris' his break at Nachos Grande a few weeks ago. The package arrived last week and here is the loot !!

First up, two of the "hits" !! Yogi Berra in the best inserts of the set, Gallery of Heroes ! Babe Ruth was also present in this cool looking parallel !

Next up two of my favourite Yankees, Rivera and Sabathia !

Tall minis, this is a new version of the minis Topps is putting in every set it seems these days. I need to get use to these ones I guess...

Two more, or actually 5 more, Yogi again and a 4 Yankees card including Rivera !

Lastly, my random team were the Astros, they only have 1 card and I got three of them, all for trade for that one Astros collector out there :-))

That was another fun break by Chris, looking forward to the next !

Tribute Loot from Nachos Grande

Topps Tribute is one of the high-end sets that I really like but never had the pleasure of opening up a box myself (way too expensive!). Luckily, Chris at Nachos Grande held a Tribute group break recently and I was lucky enough to get the Yankees while even luckier to get allocated the Tigers as well (hopefully some Verlander!).

This morning the loot arrived. Let's have a look !! Let's start with the base cards, I received four, two Yankees and two Tigers !! Here are my two Tigers, Ty Cobb and Verlander, great looking cards !!

The two Yankees were Sabathia (nice!) and Rodriguez (I am probably not the only Yankee fan who doesn't really like him...).

I received three more cards ! One green parallel of Babe Ruth !! Great card !!

The last two cards were two great relics ! The first one a Tribute Transition, Cecil Fielder, moving from the Tigers to the Yankees !!

The last card of the pack was another great one, a bat relic of Al Kaline !! A real beauty !!

That was it, some great loot in my view so I was lucky this time !! Thanks Chris for organizing another cool group break, looking forward to the next one !!

Nachos Grande Break Loot !

Chris at Nachos Grande recently held a box break opening up several cool boxes including 2005 Upper Deck Past Time Pennants, 2000 Topps Finest, 2006 Flair Showcase and 2004 Upper Deck Play Ball. I was fast and could claim the Yankees (!) and got allocated the Expos (it always feels I am getting the Expos or Marlins, so hard to get rid of these cards in trades :-)). Here's what I got !

Let's start with my hit of the break, a nice Matsui relic from the Play Ball set !

The nicest set was the Upper Deck Past Time Pennants, really nice looking cards. Here are two black&white ones of DiMaggio and Yogi Berra ! 

The cloured ones also look nice, here's Ford and Dent...I might even try to complete this set !

I also received a bunch of Play Ball cards, here's what they look like !

Also some Flair Showcase and Topps Finest, I am not much of a fan of that year's Finest to be honest...

One more "hit" I received ! Well, "hit" is maybe a big word but she looks nice !!

A&G Delivery and Want List !!

The set I am most looking forward to every year is Allen & Ginter and this year was no different. When I noticed that Chris at Nachos Grande was hosting a case break I jumped on the opportunity. The loot arrived yesterday, now also giving me a good view on my current A&G needs as I am planning to try to complete the full set including the inserts !!

Lets first have a quick look at some of the loot. I won't bore you with all the base & insert cards as there have been plenty going around the blogosphere in recent weeks. First-up my two autograph cards, I really like this years look-and-feel of these, sadly enough no Yankees but still two cool cards !

I also received some relics but coming from Europe I really don't know these people !

I was also lucky enough to receive one of the box toppers, Mattingly but not sure yet how I am going to store these (tips are welcome!)

I received plenty of short-prints as well included several copies of these Yankees. So if you are looking for any SPs let's trade !

One more SP and one of the Ginter code cards ! I liked following this years code, bringing me back to the old "adventure" days of Zack McKracken and Larry, Space Quest and all the others !

All in all an very cool case break so thanks very much Chris and already looking forward to next year ! First, however, I still need to complete this year's set. I have plenty of base, SPs etc to trade so let's do this !

Nachos Grande Loot arrives !

I recently participated in one of the fun group breaks hosted by Chris at Nachos Grande. This time he was opening 1999 Pacific Revolution, 2002 Fleer Flair, 2003 Donruss Champions box, 1999 Pacific Paramount and 2004 Donruss Leather & Lumber, a nice mix of boxes. I was lucky this time as I noticed the break quickly so I was able to sign-up for the Yankees while the randomizer gave me the Astros. 

First up, Donruss Leather &Lumber. I like this set and Jeter & Mattingly are a welcome addition to my collection !

The break also give me a nice insert of Paul O'Neil (numbered to /2500).

 

The 1999 Pacific Revolution set is a cool looking set as well, here is Bernie and Derek !

Another Derek & Bernie combo, this time from 1999 Pacific Paramount

Another set I really liked from the break was 2002 Fleer Flair. Really great looking cards with nice combination of background and forefront. Meet Jeter (again) and Mussina ! I might even try to complete this set!

Another nice set is the 2003 Donruss Champions. I received 4 nice ones below

I was lucky enough to score a great hit, a very large (box topper size) autograph on bat card out of the Flair box: Flair Sweet Swatch (#/785). Although the player isn't great (Drew only played for the Yankees for 2 seasons before ending his baseball career in 2004), this large-sized card looks really cool.

All in all, a cool break by Chris at Nachos Grande, and I am looking forward to the next one (skipping the current one as I was too late signing-up). Thanks Chris ! No Astros cards to show as these are already on their way to Sam at The Daily Dimwit !
