Group Break Loot !!

A few months ago I participated in one of Chris' Group Breaks at Nachos Grande. If I remember correctly the group break was for a few boxes of Finest as well as some boxes of Donruss. I got the Dodgers in the break and was allocated the Indians as well. Here's some of the loot !

First up a few Corey Seager cards, both from the Donruss boxes !! The Elite Series cards looks pretty cool and is numbered to 999.

Next up a cool insert card from Topps Finest, Franchise Finest ! I always like the look and feel of Topps Finest cards.

Another insert came my way, I USA Baseball card of KJ Harrison. It looks kinda cool !

I even was lucky enough to get one of the hits !! A Topps Finest Auto of Indian Kluber !!

Breaking a box of Donruss !

Together with the Chrome box I showed a few days ago I was able to get a cheap Donruss box. Not a big fan of the Donruss set but it was cheap so couldn't resist ! Here's the loot !!

Let's start with the "hits" !! I was very lucky to pull a "Dutch" auto, Profar !!!! Also a Morse, which is for trade !

Although I am not a fan of the basecards, the set does have some cool inserts. Here's Sandoval and Ripken !

Two Parallels, Press Proof and one other which I have no clue what to call !

Two more inserts, "Hall Worthy" !!

I like these Rookie inserts !! Here's Flores (I witness his debut live at Citi field !) and Rupp

One last hit in the box, a Dirks Jersey, which is for trade !

Bat Kings !

Donruss is back ! To be honest I thought the base set was not great, actually a bit boring. However, the set does contain a few cool cards, including Bat Kings ! Here's one of Rizzo I was able to get my hands on !!

Donruss Game Gear !

Recently Donruss was relaunched by Panini. Although I didn't break a box I did chase some of the "hits" and singles. One of those was a cool Sabathia that arrived at my doorstep a few days ago. Here is a cool "Game Gear" card, numbered to only 25 with a nice patch !!

Despite the lack of official logo I think Panini actually did a good job here. Let's hope Sabathia will also do a good job for the Yankees this season after a disappointing one last year !!

Affordable Group Break Loot !!

Recently, Colbey at Cardboard Collections organised one of his famous Affordable Group Breaks, this time opening 2 boxes of Panini Donruss 2014. I jumped at the opportunity and picked the Dodgers in the hope to get some new Kershaw cards (and some trade bait for my fellow Dodger collectors!). The loot arrived a few days ago. Here it is !!

First up the base cards, here are a few Dodgers, including Kershaw !! My random team was Oakland so some cards of them included as well.

Puig was also included, everyone seems to love him. Curious to see how he will do in his second year ! Both are inserts with the blue one even numbered. Both look kinda cool !

Two more inserts complete the overview, one of which the old "Diamond Kings".

Overall I think Panini did a fairly decent job in re-launching the Donruss brand ! No "hit" for me this time but all in all a cool break so thanks very much Colbey !! Looking forward to the next one !!
