It continues to intrigue me, the concept of a coin inside a baseball card. Not sure what the thinking is behind the concept, in particular given that these are not even old coins or anything but just a recent quarter of a dollar, or at least this one. Still, it's Blyleven and I like to chase Blyleven cards, including this one !!
What do you guys think, should Topps continue with the Coin cards or not ?
If they were foreign coins for foreign players I woukd get it. Like knowing a bit more of foreign countries. But the way Topps does I don't get it too. But thwy look pretty, that must be the thought they had.
ReplyDeleteIt's something a little bit different, which is generally a good thing. I like it.
ReplyDeletethe most I've spent on a card was for a coin card. The Moyer 62 mint penny card from 2011 Heritage.
ReplyDeleteTopps did something similar a few years back with Gallery, but they were foreign coins as mentioned by Ana. Great card though!
ReplyDeletePersonally, not a fan. I could glue a nickel or quarter on a card too.
ReplyDeleteMore money
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have a problem with it if they used old coins.
