Exit Kershaw !!

So yesterday I promissed everyone some big news so here we go ! My break was a time to rethink my collection and the future direction of it. Of course I will continue to focus on Glavine and Blyleven, I love these pitchers and the outstanding base of cards are manageable and potentially reachable, no tons of color variations etc. As I do want to collect a current player I am continuing my Rizzo Collection. 

I have, however, decided that my Yankees collection will be toned down and only will chase some fun cards and that's it. An even bigger decision was to stop my Sabathia as well as my Verlander collections. I return I will focus more on sets like A&G and GQ.

And now for the really big decision....I have decided to quit Kershaw. This was really the most difficult decision as I have been collection Kershaw from the start, when he was still to win his first CY award. Prices for Kershaw cards just have become too high to get much joy out of collecting them. Given that I have just moved house, selling my Kershaw collection can actually bring in some good funds to finance the rest of my collection and some of my moving costs.

So there it is, the word is out, Kershaw is going to be out and some are already on COMC. I will likely only keep a few really cool ones for sentimental value (likely some of the A&G ones), everything else can go. If you are interested in some make me a good offer or tell your friends and fellow collectors. Given that I can use the money and there is still some sentimental value I am going to only go for strong offers (so apologies in advance in case I come over difficult :-)). Below my last Kershaw count, 567 cards of which 134 auto cards and 17 1/1s, still a nice achievement if I may say so !! All of them can be found above or using this link.

Kershaw Tek !

Quick post today with my latest Kershaw addition. Meet my latest Kershaw Tek card from the 2015 set. Apparently this is the "gold" variation, numbered to /50. A cool addition to my Kershaw collection ! Still need to chase all the base card variations as well so not yet done withy 2015 Topps Tek !

Quick post to wish everyone a happy New Year and a great 2016. I hope we can have another cool collecting year with lots of trades, interesting box breaks and, most of all, a lot of fun !!

In a few hours it will be 2016 here in the Netherlands, assuming the Blogger scheduler works smoothly, and after 6 or 9 more hours you will be joining me as well into 2016 ! Let's make it a good one !!

Kershaw & Rizzo !!

I am really enjoying the play-offs this year ! Cool games, lots of stuff going on and the Cubs doing well and bringing some excitement ! This does, however, mean that one of my key players I collect is out. Despite a solid appearance of Kershaw, the Dodgers are out, kicked out by the Mets. So my latest Kershaw card might be the last we see of Clayton this year !! At least it's an awesome card and also numbered to only 25 !

On the flip side, the Cubs are on a roll !! A great and fun team to watch with lots of passion and a good shot of winning this year. Rizzo is playing his part with a few play-off homers already. I hope he can go all the way with the Cubs this year !! Here is my latest Rizzo card, a A&G silk one !!

Quick post today with an incoming redemption !! A lot of people hate redemptions but I love them. Why you may ask...well....if other people hate the waiting & uncertainty one can pick up cards cheaper than normal. Usually the wait is not that long and shipping is free, even to Europe !!

Dodger Blue !

Just a quick post to show off my latest Kershaw card (and maybe make some of you Dodger collectors a bit jealous :-)) Here's a cool Museum Collection Four Player Quad Relic card, as Topps calls these things !

In addition, here's one of Kershaw's 2015 Diamond King relic cards. Great set this year by Panini if I may say so ! Still trying to complete the base set but this is a nice addition to it !

Trip to the Wallmart, part 2 !!

In the previous post I showed you the first few packs I scored at the local Wallmart, today it's time for the last 2, a 2015 Donruss and a 2015 Heritage !

Let's kick-off with Heritage. All you will see, except the Kershaw, are for trade !!

The Greinke card is a chrome parallel, numbered to /566 ! One more Heritage card which is a cool Flashback one, Willie Mays !!

I also opened a pack of 2015 Donruss, not the greatest set but it does include some nice cards. Here are the best ones ! Again, all for trade !

 These "The Rookies" cards look pretty cool, although the lack of logo is a bit annoying....

That's it for the trip to the Wallmart. I had fun opening the packs, sadly enough mostly trade bait but still, it was fun !

Trade with Frankie !

A while back I was contacted by Frankie at My Life in the Sports Card Hobby. He was looking for a trade and you can always wake me up for a trade !! The trade took a long while to kick-off and I was completely to blame for it as I have been swamped by work, study and other stuff (sorry Frankie!!). Anyways Frankie was much quicker than I was so his package arrived earlier this week. Here are a couple of the cool cards Frankie send my way !

Let's start with my favourite, still active, pitcher, Kershaw !!

I love the Panini Pastime set and love the look and feel of this card !! Frankie also send me some more pitchers, here's Harvey and Robles (I had to look up who he was to be honest). It's a cool bowman mini numbered to only 50 !

A Yankee was included in the pack as well, Catcher Gary Sanchez. Let's hope he has a good year this year !

Frankie also included a nice Museum Collection card. Great set and a great card !

The last card of the pack was a cool All-star Stiches of Kershaw !!

The only downside from Kershaw's awesome performance in 2014 is that prices for his cards have doubled vs the year before so I have been much slower in adding them to my collection this year. Let's hope for my collection he has a slow year in 2015 before re-accelerating again !!

Life has been busy so I have been struggling with posting much in recent weeks. I am afraid this will likely have to continue for a bit more. Still, I try to post some cool cards now and then in between my job, study, kids and wife !! Here's a few of my latest Kershaw cards !!

Love the COMC Mailbox !!

After some good tips from my loyal blog readers I decided to give COMC mailboxes a try. This way I don't pay the ridiculously high prices eBay these days is charging through their Global Shipping Program. At the same time it also combined the international shipping part and I have the opportunity to offer them for sale as well on COMC if I, by accident, buy two of the same (and this happens to often!).

The first COMC delivery arrived today !! Here's some of the loot. First up, Babe Ruth !!

Great card and love the relic, it's looks old (even if it might be a fake!) In any good package Glavine is included as well !! Another 2007 printing plate #1/1 for my collection as well as a Leaf Limited Relic card !

Kershaw was there as well ! I hope he (mentally) recovers from the difficult post-season games....

Last but not least, the Flying Dutch Man !!

Love the COMC mailboxes. Would recommend it to all European collectors. More already on the way !!

Tier One for Trade !!

I recently noticed a cool Kershaw card on eBay. The problem, however, was that it was part of a bunch of cards, cards I had little interest in. Still, I figured "just bid on the bunch and trade the rest away, as long as I could get it for a reasonable price!". So it went and a bunch of cards fell on my doorstep ! Here they are, all for trade !!

First up, Kimbrel and Encarnacion, the latter only numbered to 50 !

Next-up, Adrian Beltre, only numbered to 25 !

The pile also included 2 autographed cards, Mike Olt and Salvador Perez. I like these New Guard autos !

In celebration of Kershaw's no-hitter !

Quick post today. It has been hectic here, amongst others with work and the World Cup Soccer, so it has been difficult to find the time to post some new stuff. A few days ago of course we had my favourite pitcher, Kershaw, throw a no-hitter !! If there is one guy deserving it it's Kershaw so I am very happy for him. So in celebration of this great achievement here's my latest addition to my Kershaw PC !! A cool Panini Pastime Impact Inkt !!

Furthermore, my quest for the complete 2011 Gypsy Queen auto set continues. Here's my latest addition, DeJesus, still a big bunch to go so if you have any for trade let me know !!
