Another Trade with Frankie !

A few weeks ago Frankie at My Life in the Sports Card Hobby contacted my for a trade as he was interested in one of my Chipper Jones relic cards. Of course a trade was quickly born, our second trade already in a few months time. With lightning speed Frankie's package arrived at my doorstep and here's what he send me !!

First-up, the key part of the trade, a cool Mike Schmidt auto cards. I didn't own any of his autographs and for some reason I had the urge to have one for my collection so Frankie helped me out here !!

I like what Panini did with National Treasures, hope they can keep it up !! Frankie also send me a bunch of Rivera cards !!

A couple more for today's quick post ! A nice Sabathia relic card and a Pat Corbin card. This one came from left field as I do like the Immaculate set but I don't really have a clue who this guy is !

Awesome package from William !

Some of you might remember that I pulled a A&G RIP card (or actually two last year) and from one of them came a Chris Davis high-numbered mini. Clearly this card was something for William at Foul Bunt. Due to the fact that I was swamped with a lot of (work) stuff I contacted William only recently but of course in the end a great trade was born ! Here's a few cards that William send me.

The trade was mainly around a pink mini. Yes, today pink is my favourite color !! Meet my favourite, still active, pitcher, Clayton Kershaw !! All in pink and numbered to only 25 !!

It's getting harder and harder to (super) collect Kershaw, more on that in a future post, so this is a great addition to my Kershaw Collection !!

William also send me a bunch of extras, awesome extras !! Here's are two cool Blyleven cards !

First one is a 1981 Topps card and the second one some kind of stamp ? Any hint on the origin of the second one is very welcome as the back is simply blank !!

William also included my favourite (ex) Yankees pitcher, Rivera ! This one from Topps Update if I am not mistaken. He also included a bunch of Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan cards, probably the two pitchers I would more seriously collect if I weren't so busy with my Glavine, Blyleven, Kershaw and Rizzo collections !

A few more Kershaw cards were included, these two are new additions so very happy with those. Both from Topps Update if I am not mistaken.

Although a bunch more cards were included in the pack let's finish with two more Blyleven cards, the Flying Dutchman !!

I have been Zippy Zapped !

Yesterday I received a big yellow bubble mailer from Kenny H who most of you know by the name Zippy Zappy from the blog Cervin Up Cards ! Kenny reached out to me a while back and a cool trade was quickly born ! Here's what Kenny send me !

Let's start with some cool Sega CardGen cards !! I have never owned one but always have been intrigued by them, probably given they are Japanese. Also, I know Sega as a game console so think it's fun they have cards as well ! Kenny actually send me two, Rizzo and Sabathia !!

Not sure if they are from the same set and/or if the white or black background is a parallel or not but in any event I like these !! Next up, two beautiful cards, really like the Cano card and the Sabathia is not bad either !

Vintage !! Vintage was included as well with this 1972 Topps Rookie Stars !! Don't know any of them but still, looks like a great card !

Some cool Andy Pettitte cards were also included, SPx and Sports Illustrated !!

Kenny also include a bunch of Sabathia Parallel cards ! Given the lack of Target, Wallmart, Toys 'R US shops and others it is very hard for me to get my hands on these parallels so these are very much appreciated Kenny !!

A pack of 2010 Upper Deck was also included, or so I thought. Always fun when people send me unopened packs because I love "breaking wax"! However, I noticed this one had already been opened and Kenny had put in some cool cards to replace the UD 2010 cards, a wise choice !!

Here were two that were included in the pack, Glavine and Verlander !!

To finish off the overview here are two more from the pile that Kenny send me, Flair Greats and a cool Swisher card !!

Indiana Jones, Soccer and some Baseball !!

In the last 2 years I have gradually expanded my network when it comes to basebal collectors. Sadly enough we also lost a few good ones along the way, as they moved a way for the hobby (hopefully only tempararily, expecting you back Kyle :-)). Although baseball card collection is mostly a US "thing" my network in Europe is also growing nicely. Recently I came in contact with someone from Sweden, a first for me !!

Rasmus is a box breaker and I decided to shoot him a box of cards, a return packaged arrived a few days ago, a package with a lot of fun stuff !! Rasmus doesn't have a blog yet but he does have his own YouTube channel with box breaks so check it out here !

First up, an unopened pack, always great fun !! This one was an Indiana Jones, a set I had never seen before which increased the fun further. 

 Unpacking the pack resulted in some interesting Indy cards. No Harrison Ford as, on closer inspection, this was a Young Indiana Jones pack ! Here's two of the cards included in the pack.

Let's move to sportscards !! Here's a black-bordered Rivera numbered to 63, the card that got this trade started !

Rasmus is a big Triple Threads box breaker and these are very cool additions to my Yankees PC !!

Rasmus also included a bunch of soccer cards !! Here van Persie !! Really hope he will be awesome during this WorldCup in a few days time, we need it !!!

He also added some Topps flagship inserts, still need a bunch so these are very welcome !!

Package from Greg !

Earlier this year I held a contest and one of the winners was Greg at Plaschke, Thy Sweater is Argyle. I send him a nice price but we also included a trade as I had a cool Kershaw card for him. Greg send me a very cool return package which arrived a few days ago. Let's have a look !!


First up two cool relic cards with two great Yankees Pitchers !

Greg also included some cool TriStar cards with some young Yankees, David Phelps is already doing fairly well in today´s line-up !

Two vintage card, if I may call them that ! A cool addition to my Topps 1976 set, some 300 cards to go !!

Greg also included an auto card, Eduardo Nunez !!

Minis !!! Allen & Ginter Minis !!! Another step closer to completing the full set !! If you have any to trade do let me know !!

Two of my favourite Yankees pitchers were included as well, Rivera and Sabathia !!!

Lastly, Greg included a World Series Commemorative Patch with Matsui !
