I have started to really enjoy collecting Minis and actually like most mini (insert) sets. As some of you know I only really starting collecting baseball cards late last year hence have little history with a lot of sets from the past. It's actuaklly a lot of fun "discovering" new sets that are completely new to me. One of these "new" sets is the 2011 Topps Kimball Champions. I really like the set, a nice mix of current and retired players and actually includes several of the players I collecting including Sabathia, Rivera, Kershaw, Verlander and Blyleven ! Only disappointment was the absence of Glavine :-)
Here are a few of a lot I recently was able to get on the cheap !
Do you guys like this set ? Was it a popular one in 2011 ? Well I am going to try to complete all 150 mini cards so here are the numbers I still need, let me know if you have any for trade !!
The cards I still need are the following: 2, 7, 13, 51, 52, 54, 55, 61, 71, 72, 80, 84, 85, 86, 94, 95, 100, 101, 108, 110, 111, 115, 118, 129, 133, 135, 144, 145, 150

ReplyDeleteI really like this minis set. Specially because you have a face 'photo' and and playing 'photo' too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think those were nearly as popular as the Ginter minis, but some people were collecting the whole set.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite mini cards. The player selection is great and two painting like photos on a mini is just great!
ReplyDeletesome of the portraits are weaker than others, but overall, this set ROCKS!!
