Trade with Italy !!

Not a lot of people in Europe collect baseball cards but I am happy to know a few. One of these collectors is Calciati Riccardo from Italy, the only Italian I know, at least for now, who collects baseball cards ! Last week I received a big, big package from Italy with some awesome cards. He really went out of his way to make this a great one !! Here's only a few great cards he send me as I can only show a small portion of the loot ! Let's start with Glavine !! If there is a new Glavine in a package the package is already a huge success. In this package there were actually multiple new Glavine cards for my PC !!

More great pitchers were included !! Here's Verlander and the Flying Dutchman, Blyleven !!

Some large (maybe box toppers) were also included. Here's Seaver and Ryan ! Cool looking cards !!

Another interesting card was included. Have a look at this one...I already had a few of this set but this one was new to me !!

Another set I discovered, Upper Deck Yankees Classics...I think I am going to try to complete this set, looks like a cool one !!

Lastly, two more cool cards, Michael Jordan (yes, I had Air Jordan shoes as well when I was young) and a cool Legendary Cuts card !

Sabathia Calling !!

I really like this year's Calling Card inserts, not sure why but I just think they look cool. These have both relic and autograph versions but I rarely see them popping-up on eBay or COMC. A few weeks back I finally saw one of these relic version, numbered to only 25, and I was able to pick it up due to a lack of competition (I have the feeling Sabathia cards are way less popular compared to a year ago..great for me!!).

Interesting Glavine items for my collection !!

Hi all, it's been a while since my last post. Have been very busy with work, kids and all kinds of stuff, basically life. Hopefully I will have time for some more regular posts in the weeks to come ! Today I have some interesting stuff to show you all. For you regular visitors you all know that my Glavine collection is the key focus of my collection (with Kershaw, Blyleven and Rizzo closely following him). So whenever I see some cool Glavine stuff I try to chase it ! I found some cool stuff in recent weeks, stuff that I wasn't even aware existed.

First up, 15 original test photos from Pacific Trading Cards for Glavine's 1995, 1996 and 1998 cards. They even include details of the game they are from and the date. Really fun to have some of these. Here are a few !

Furthermore, I also came across some late 90ties Glavine cards that apparently were handed out during trading card shows, shows from which they have a specific stamp on the card. Not sure how rare's these are but at least they are something new for my collection. Here are the three I was able to get !

Lastly, a huge Glavine card, the largest I have in my collection, a 1993 Topps Stadium Master Photo !

Democratic Roadkill, part 2 !!

Following up from part 1, here's part 2 of the Democratic Roadkill loot !! Earlier this week I showed you the minis. Today we will have some more fun stuff !! Let's start with a Colony card, never had one of those before, I think they are at least interesting, kinda cool !

Duane also send me some more inserts from one of the older A&G sets. I like these...

More minis were included, two high numbered minis of my favourite pitchers, Kerhsaw and Rivera !!

Duane also send me a cool Glavine card and even a Dutch Soccer card. Actually a very nicely looking soccer card made by Futera (of which I had never heard).

To finish today, two cool Yankees cards, Sabathia and Rivera. I even at some point seriously considered to complete the Yankees Stadium Legacy collection, still would love to do that but need to give it much more serious attention !

Minis from Democratic Roadkill, part one !!

I always love the minis subsets in the Gypsy Queen and Allen & Ginter sets. At the same time, it's a huge challenge to complete these minis sets. That's why Duane's help from the Democratic Roadkill blog is always very much appreciated. Like last year we made a good deal and all the cards arrived last week. Given the large amount of cards I will spread this one over a few blog posts ! Let's kick things off !

First up, the insert minis, this helps me a good way forward but still loads to go so let me know if you have any for trade !!

More minis, black and gold-bordered minis including some for my player collections with Rizzo, Sabathia, Blyleven and Verlander !!

Last-up some Gypsy Queen minis. I am also chasing these minis so great so have some more incoming !

A $30 a week trade !

Robert at $30 a week habit was one of my first trading partners when I started collection baseball cards a few years back. We recently set up another trade and some cool cards arrived a few days ago !! Here's what Robert send me !

First up, some of this year's flagship inserts. Still trying to complete the set so these are very welcome !!

Another PWE arrives across the pond !!

Another white envelop dropped on my doorstep, another PWE, another one from Jeff at 2 by 3 Heroes !! Jeff send me some great cards again for my PCs, here they are !!

First up a dutchman, a flying dutchman, Bert Blyleven !!

One more Blyleven and a Glavine !! Any package with a new Glavine card is a great one !!

Topps Delivers again !!

I have heard plenty of horror stories about Topps Redemption program and I am no fan either (hate to wait, even have a redemption today that is not yet in the Topps System....). However, to date Topps has always delivered, usually after 6 months or so..maybe I am just lucky !

A few months back a few 2013 Museum Collection redemptions were on eBay, a few of my favourite dutch MLB player, Bert Blyleven !! As Topps might have scared away people from buying redemptions (or Bert Blyleven is not the most popuylar guy) I was able to get my hand on not one but two framed redemtpions, one silver, one black. I love these cards, realy beautiful with the steel frame around it. Here they are !!

I still have a bunch of outstanding redemptions so hopefully Topps continues to deliver in the future as well !!

Some Dutch Ginter !!

I love Allen & Ginter and having a Dutch star in the set doesn't happen every day (ignoring Bert Blyleven for a moment of course). A Dutch Soccer player is even more awesome !! It's Robin van Persie, top scorer of the Premier League en striker of the Dutch Soccer team. I don't have the autographed mini yet (still way too expensive at the moment but coming down rapidly) but I did find myself a cool mini !! Meet Robin's numbered red back mini !!!

I hope Topps will include some more soccer superstars in next year's Allen & Ginter !!
